Delicate Lace Inspirations
Friday, July 9th, 2010French Lace has always had a special place in my heart. My grandmother as a little girl in France would hand stitch the finest lace doilies, napkin, tablecloths and panties…yes panties. Her mother was a seamstress and taught her to sew beautiful delicate patterns at an early age. After losing my Grandfather in the war she moved my father to New York to start a new life. She had a huge following in New York as a bra and pantie designer. We had the fanciest undergarments in the sixth grade:) She was brought out of retirement to help design more modern lines with Form Fit Rogers. I think I get my magical hands from her. Before my dear grandmother passed she was sure to give my sister and myself plently of heirloom lace pieces for us to treasure and pass down through our future generations. This weeks inspiration is lace. I hope you enjoy!
